Traffic accident in Daviess County leaves 3 seriously injured

A Prior Lake, Minnesota woman and a Yale, Oklahoma man are seriously injured after a 3 vehicle accident on Interstate 35 in Daviess County yesterday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a truck being driven by 45-year-old Gretchen Vecellio of Yale, Oklahoma slid off the road on southbound I-35 four miles north of Cameron and was sitting stationary in the median. At approximately 11:55 a.m., a car being driven by 43-year-old Emy Anderson of Prior Lake, Minnesota began to slide on the road and slid into the path of a freightliner being driven by 46-year-old Keith Franks of Redfield, Kansas. Franks' freightliner struck the back of Anderson's car and caused it to overturn and land on its passenger side in the median on top of Vecellio's truck. Anderson and a passenger in Vecellio's truck, 69-year-old Eldon Leighty of Yale, Oklahoma were seriously injured in the accident. Anderson was life flighted to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City and Leighty was life flighted to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. The accident was assissted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Daviess County Sheriff's Department.
