Hopkins woman killed in vehicular accident

A Hopkins, Missouri woman was killed in an accident Saturday night in Nodaway County. According to the report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 37-year-old Justin Snuffer was northbound on Missouri 148 when he lost control on the snow-covered roadway and went off the right side of the road. Snuffer overcorrected and crossed the roadway and struck a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Austin Bird of Hopkins head on. A passenger in Snuffer's vehicle, 34-year-old Sharon Snuffer of Hopkins was pronounced dead at the scene. Justin Snuffer and Bird both received moderate injuries. Snuffer was taken to St. Francis hospital by ambulance and Bird was taken to St. Francis hospital by private vehicle. The crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Nodaway County Sheriff's Office, Hopkins Fire and Rescue, and the Maryville Fire Department.
