Audit report presented to the Board of Education

Maryville Board of Edcucation heard a report on their 2017/18 audit during a recent meeting.   Maryville superintendent of Schools Becky Albrecht says CPA Diana Closterman gave the report to the board.

"She came in and presented - probably did a 15 to 20 minute presentation - to Board of Education, presented a clean audit, and was very complimentary of the finances as they were kept."

Albrecht adds the audit report validates the school district's financial practices.

"They come in and do a complete review of our books and then we have to submit their findings to several agencies, both DESE and also some financial institutions.  By statute we're required to do that.  So it's important that they come in and do a complete review of our books, and then we turn around and do the report with the agencies we need to communicate with."
