Albany School improvements complete

The Albany Board of Education recently heard a report on improvements to the district facilities security system. Superintendent Dr. Brian Pekarek says the improvements come following an inspection from a consultant with the Missouri School Boards Association.

"So they went through and they saw different areas where we could possibly improve.  Locks, doors, lights that were out, buzzer systems, cameras, things like that.  So that was very helpful for us.  So one of the things which they had requested was a long list of items.  So I was pleased to announce at the board this November that we've accomplished - there were 16 major themes - and all of the 16 major themes are done."

Pekarek also says the Albany Board of Education approved improvements to the high school gymnasium bleachers closing a gap in the east bleachers, which adds 32 more seats to that side of the gymnasium.
