Activities planned for Veterans Day

Northwest Missouri State University will celebrate Veterans Day again this year by honoring those who have served in the military. The University will host a wreath laying ceremony at every military marker on campus as a tribute to the men and women who have served for the United States. The ceremonies begin at 8:45 a.m. tomorrow .
Military markers on the Northwest campus consist of the Bell Tower, the Persian Gulf War Memorial just north of the J.W. Jones Student Union, the Bell of ’48, the World War I Memorial Plaza at the corner of College Park Avenue and Memorial Drive, the Roll of Honor on the third floor of the Administration Building and the Navy Room under the west grandstand of Bearcat Stadium.
Northwest Missouri State's Symphony Orchestra plans to host a Veterans Day celebration concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the Charles Johnson Theater at the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts building. The concert will feature an "Armed Forces Salute" to honor those who have served. The university will also host a coffee social at 10 a.m. on Monday. Coffee will be provided to veterans and active duty military members at Starbucks in the B.D. Owens Library.
