Missouri Highway Patrol officers conducted a hazardous moving operation in northwest Missouri over the Labor Day holiday weekend. The enforcement program resulted in 98 traffic citations issued, 208 warnings given, and 31 motorists assisted. The operation included Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Clinton and Holt counties.
Statewide, five people died in traffic crashes during the holiday weekend, down from eleven a year ago. None of the fatalities involved accidents in northwest Missouri.
