Missouri Governor Mike Parson emphasizes need for education funding

Mike Parson officially took over as Missouri Governor Friday evening following the resignation of former Governor Eric Greitens.

In early April, Parson visited Maryville while serving as Lieutenant Governor. In an interview with KXCV News, Parson said that, in order to have a vibrant work force in Missouri, it's important to find a way to increase education funding.

Parson was sworn in as Governor shortly after Greitens' resignation Friday during a low-key ceremony in the governor's office. Parson will serve the remainder of Greitens' term, which runs until 2021.
