Major General Christopher Hughes joins Northwest

A prominent Northwest Missouri State alumnus is joining the staff at the University next month.

Major General Christopher Hughes, U.S. Army retired, is joining the Northwest staff in a contracted position with Student Affairs. Hughes graduated from Northwest with a Bachelors in Political Science in 1983 and says coming back to Northwest is a great opportunity for him.

After graduating from Northwest Hughes worked his way through the ranks of the United States Army over the course of 35 years.  He was the Army Senior Liaison of the House of Representatives, Executive Assistant to the Secretary of the Army, Lead Investigator of the U.S.S. Cole commission, founder of the Army University and founder of the joint IED explosive device task force.
