Quentin Hughs, a 16-year-old Gilman City resident, was taken by ambulance to Wright Memorial Hospital after a traffic accident Friday night.
Hughs was eastbound on MO 146 about a mile east of Melbourne when he crossed the center line and overcorrected. The vehicle then travelled off the south side of the roadway, overturned twice and came to rest on its wheels. Hughs was wearing a safety belt.
The Grundy County Sheriff's department assisted the crash.
