Northwest's Ford presents roundtable discussion on Organizing Rural Women

Assistant Professor of History at Northwest Missouri State University, Dr. Elyssa Ford spoke at the 13th Triennial Rural Women's Studies Association Conference at Ohio Univerity earlier this month.

Ford presented a roundtable discussion, titled "Organizing Rural Women in Today's Political Climate." She spoke about northwestern Missouri women who participated in the Women's Suffrage and Civil Rights movements, and how to mobilize similar groups of rural women to leave their computers behind and perform real-life activism today.

Ford joined the Northwest faculty in 2011 and directs the public history minor in addition to teaching courses in U.S. and women's history.
