Missouri lawmakers increase education budget by $99 million

Missouri lawmakers approved a budget last week that includes nearly $99 million more for K through 12 public schools and rescinds many cuts to higher education proposed by Gov. Greitens at the start of the General Assembly session.

1st District State Rep. Allen Andrews says as the session moved along more lawmakers got on board with boosting funding to higher education.

This year's regular session of the Missouri General Assembly is set to close Friday. A special session to address the possible impeachment of Gov. Greitens will begin Friday evening.
