MERCER, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says an ATV wreck injured two Iowa teenagers.

The Patrol says 18-year-old Johnathan Akes, of Des Moines, was driving a 2017 Polaris Ranger 900 on Caribbean Avenue, about three miles west of Mercer.

The ATV traveled off the road, struck a ditch, overturned and caught fire. Akes was taken to Wayne County Hospital with serious injuries and a 16-year-old passenger was taken to West Des Moines Medical with minor injuries.
