Wright headlines Northwest's All-Region selections

Braden Wright stepped in as the starting quarterback for one of the most prestigious football programs in America and led Northwest to 10 wins and the second round of the playoffs. Now the redshirt freshman is being recognized as one of the best in the country.

Wright was named Don Hansen Super Region 3 Freshman of the Year after throwing for 2,596 yards, rushing for 514 and accounting for 35 total touchdowns.

The quarterback headlined the Bearcats recognized by the Don Hansen Football Committee as they handed out All-Region honors.

Offensive lineman Zach Flott, defensive end Austen Eskew, defensive tackle Sam Roberts and defensive back Anthony Lane were all named to the Don Hansen Super Region 3 Second Team for their performances this season.

Wright, wide receiver Shawn Bane Jr., offensive lineman Tanner Owen and defensive back Jack Richards were third team selections.

First and second team All-Region selections advance to a national ballot which will be used to pick the 2018 Don Hansen All-America Team.
