Witthus, Hudgins crack All-Region Team

Two players that have spear-headed the Northwest attack to a perfect 34-0 record were recognized by the Conference Commissioners Association Monday.

Senior Joey Witthus and freshman Trevor Hudgins were named to the NCAA Division 2 All-Central Region Teams.

Witthus, the MIAA Player of the Year and MIAA Tournament MVP, received first-team accolades. Witthus is averaging 21.7 points per game and is leading the conference in three-point field goal percentage (45.7).

Hudgins, the MIAA Freshman of the Year, landed on the all-region second team. Hudgins puts up 18.6 points and 5.4 assists per game.

Both player are also among the 25 finalists for the Bevo Francis Award, which goes to the top small college basketball player in the nation.
