A quick turnaround and a rivalry match were not enough to slow down Northwest Missouri State.

The Bearcat volleyball team rolled through Missouri Western with a 3-0 sweep Tuesday night. Northwest is now 11-3 overall, 3-0 MIAA after earning its sixth consecutive win.

And the 'Cats haven't lost a set during the streak. They've won 18 straight sets dating back to the Jet Classic at Newman University on September 7.

They jumped back into their MIAA schedule quickly to face Missouri Western after knocking off No. 9 Central Missouri at home on Saturday.

The Griffons biggest threat Tuesday came in the first set. The teams were tied 22-22 before Northwest hung on for a 25-22 win. The second set was a decisive 25-15 Bearcat victory. They finished off Western in the final set 25-20.

Maddy Bruder posted 14 kills and 13 digs, and Maddy Ahrens finished with 44 assists and 10 digs. Olivia Nowakowski led the team with 13 digs.

Northwest hits the road this weekend for matches with Missouri Southern and Southwest Baptist.
