Northwest remains atop final NCAA Central Region Rankings

The final NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Central Region rankings see a familiar team sitting in the driver's seat ahead of Sunday's selection show.

Northwest Missouri State (24-3, 16-3 MIAA) remains as the No. 1 team in the region, and if the ranking holds, will host the NCAA Central Region Tournament once again this March.

The Bearcats open the MIAA Tournament Friday at 6pm against Pittsburg State.

The NCAA Selection Show will be held Sunday at 9:30pm.

Northern State (31-3, 21-2 NSIC) is second in the region after winning the NSIC Tournament Tuesday night.

Missouri Southern finished the regular season on an eight-game win streak, and is up to fourth in the region. Central Oklahoma and Washburn round out the top 10 in the region. Only the top eight reach the NCAA Tournament.
