Northwest Missouri State senior defensive end Austen Eskew is among the best NCAA Division II Football has to offer as the AFCA recognized him as an All-American Wednesday.

Eskew, a Lawson, Mo. native, is a first team selection after leading the MIAA with 10.5 sacks and 18 tackles-for-loss.

He's just the 22nd Bearcat to receive AFCA First Team All-America honors.

Eskew was recruited to Northwest Missouri State University as a tight end, but made the transition to defensive end prior to his junior year. He finished with 111 tackles, 16.5 sacks and 28 tackles-for-loss during his career.
