Northwest volleyball posted a statement win last weekend, and they can turn a few more heads with another victory Tuesday night.

The Bearcats (10-3, 2-0 MIAA) swept No. 9 Central Missouri (10-3, 1-1 MIAA) Saturday evening for just the second time in program history. It was also Northwest's fifth straight win.

"We all talked about how we woke up the next morning and we still were just as excited as when we won the game," senior Maddy Bruder said.

Tuesday night they turn their attention to Missouri Western. The Bearcats haven't beat the Griffons in Maryville since 2012.

Bruder said the win Saturday was big, but they'll have to make sure it's behind them to have a chance against Missouri Western.

"It's good to think about (the win over No. 9 UCM) at the time, but right now we have a new beast upon us. So we have to focus on this game. This is the one that matters. It's a rival. Those are always fun."

The Bearcats and Griffons meet at 7 o'clock Tuesday night at Bearcat Arena.
