Playing on her home course, Northwest senior Gia Zupancic set out to blaze a new trail for the Bearcat golf program.

The Pueblo, CO native set the program's new single-round record with a 69 leaving her three-under par at the end of day one, and capped the tournament with a new mark through 36 holes.

Zupancic finished the MIAA Fall Preview with an overall score of 145, seven strokes better than the previous record set by Kaleigh Ashen in 2015.

As a team, the Bearcats shot a 631 through the two-day tournament, good for a ninth place finish. That was just four strokes shy of the lowest round in program history.

The Bearcats return to the fairway on October 9th in Warrensburg as part of the Midwest Fall Classic.
