Over 500 Northwest Missouri State University students will be taking part in tomorrow's winter commencement ceremonies on the Northwest campus. Nearly 200 are expected to receive master or specialist degrees and more then 300 undergraduate students are expected to receive bachelor degrees during the event.
2005 Northwest alumnus and software engineering manager at Apple, Bilal Clarance will be the commencement speaker. Prior to his career at Apple, Clarance was co-founder and chief technology officer of Ball Abroad.com. While at Northwest, Clarance was a member of the Bearcat men's basketball team from 2003 through 2005 -- including the 2003-04 team that advanced to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight and was inducted into the Northwest M-Club Hall of Fame in 2014.
Northwest's commencement ceremonies for bachelor degree candidates from the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Agricultural Sciences, Melvin D and Valorie G Booth School of Business and Professional Studies and the School of Education will be at ten o'clock. Master degree candidates as well as bachelor degree candidates representing the School of Computer Science and Information Systems and the School of Communication and Mass Media will be at two o'clock.
Both ceremonies will be held in Bearcat Arena.
