Northwest Missouri State University's theatre company, Theatre Northwest, will present the program "Stop Kiss" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Studio Theatre at the Ron Houston Center for Performing Arts.
The program, an Off-Broadway play praised by the New York Times and written by Diana Son, features Callie and Sara, a couple who unexpectedly fall in love, but their first kiss prompts a violent attack in Central Park.
The production is directed by Samantha Ruiz, a senior speech and theatre education major from Lee's Summit. Tickets may be purchased one hour before the show. Ruiz says she would like the audience to "think more deeply about how they treat one another and strive to be better citizens."
