South Nodaway and Jefferson Board of Education meeting recaps

South Nodaway R-IV school district

The South Nodaway R-IV Board of Education met in regular session last night and Superintendent Johnnie Silkett headlined the meeting with a discussion of the district's Annual Performance Review grade.
South Nodaway received a perfect APR of 100 percent, which Silkett says shows the progress the district has made.

Silkett also took some time to discuss the progress of the Guilford Sports Complex in the meeting. He says the board approved the purchase of six light poles for the ball field.

The board also took time to discuss the district's five-year plan and the possibility of moving toward project-based learning initiatives such as Project Lead-the-Way.

Jefferson C-123 school district

The Jefferson C-123 Board of Education met in regular session yesterday evening. During the meeting, Superintendent Tim Jermain notified the Board that the new gymnasium is very close to completion. Though there are some spot-check items remaining, Jermain says the school has already used the facility a few times.

In addition, the school received its Annual Performance Review scores, which were to be made publicly available this morning. Jermain says he is proud of Jefferson's performance.

During the meeting, the board also discussed and passed board policies handed down by the state.
