Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop H, of St. Joseph, recently conducted a Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program operation in Buchanan County, targeting Interstate 29, Interstate 229, U.S. Highway 59, and U.S. Highway 36 to place special attention on violations that contribute to motor vehicle crashes.
These violations include speeding, following too close, unsafe lane changes, careless driving, impaired driving, and distracted driving. As a result of the project, officers issued seven citations for traffic violations and 30 warnings, conducted 16 commercial vehicle inspections, and placed four commercial motor vehicles out-of-service.
