Northwest Missouri State University announced a new provost on Friday. Dr. Jamie Hooyman will serve as the Univeristy's next provost starting immediately. Hoyman served as the interim provost and becomes the first woman to be named provost in Northwest's history.
As the University’s chief academic officer, Hooyman will oversee learning, academic quality and student success. She will lead the development and assessment of academic programming in partnership with the president of the University Dr. John Jasinski, the Board of Regents, the Northwest Leadership Team, faculty, staff and students.
Hooyman joined Northwest in July 2016 as the University's vice provost after working at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, Missouri, for two years as the vice president of institutional effectiveness.
She holds a Doctor of Education in human performance with a concentration in exercise science from Oklahoma State University; a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in exercise physiology and fitness from Northern Illinois University; a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in physical education from Missouri State University; and an Associate of Arts from North Central Missouri College.
