Burlington Jct. man charged with unlawful use of a weapon

A 32-year-old Burlington Jct. man has been charged in connection with an incident in the Nodaway County Courthouse yesterday morning.

Michael S. Shipley was arrested inside the courtroom gallery by Nodaway County Deputy Sheriff Travis Casteel after Casteel observed a black leather knife sheath hanging from the bottom of Shipley's jacket. The sheath contained a large hunting knife and, on inspection, a second knife was located in Shipley's front pants pocket.

Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney Robert Rice charged Shipley with a class B misdemeanor: unlawful use of a weapon.
