13-year-old driver and passenger injured in crash

A Craig woman and a young teenager were injured in a crash on Missouri Highway 111 two miles south of Craig yesterday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 13-year-old Madisyn Landers was driving eastbound on Highway 111 at approximately 5:30 p.m. yesterday when her vehicle ran off the south side of the road. She overcorrected and returned the vehicle to the road, which then skidded off the south side, struck an embankment, overturned, and landed on its driver's side.

Landers' passenger, 50-year-old Tierra Rails, sustained serious injuries and Landers sustained moderate injuries. Rails was taken by ambulance and Landers was taken by private vehicle to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. Neither person was wearing a seatbelt.
