West Nodaway R-1 Board of Education considers improvements to baseball field

The West Nodaway R-1 Board of Education met in regular session Wednesday night. The main item on the agenda was a discussion about the Burlington Junction Blazers baseball field in town, which the West Nodaway baseball team also uses.

Clint Snodderley, one of the head coaches of the Blazers, as well as Shayli Larabee, the Cook Shack Manager, and Burlington Junction Mayor Justin Plymell were all in attendance as guests to discuss the plans with the board. The Blazers are seeking contributions to rebuild the Cook Shack and fix a few other issues around the field.

The board also discussed and approved a bid from Clarinda Heating and Cooling for a new air conditioning unit for the middle and high school office. In addition, the board approved Brenda Langston as the new before and after school student care supervisor.

The West Nodaway R-1 Board of Education will next meet Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in the media center.
