Missouri Hope seeks 600 volunteers for disaster preparedness training

Northwest Missouri State University's Emergency and Disaster Management team is looking for role players to participate in Missouri Hope 2017.

Missouri Hope is a disaster preparedness program that simulates a variety of different disaster related exercises such as search-and-rescue, evacuation from difficult terrain, and proper assessment of traumatic injuries in the field. Northwest's Exercise Director of Missouri Hope and Program Coordinator for Emergency and Disaster Management John Carr says the department has partnered with a number of local resources for the exercise.

Over 600 volunteers are needed to play victims for the exercise which will simulate situations first responders may encounter during a tornado. If you are interested in volunteering to be a role player, make-up artist, or safety officer, contact Dr. Peter Adam at padam@nwmissouri.edu

The event will occur October 13-15.
