Average retail gas prices in Missouri have fallen 5.8 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.26 per gallon yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 3,940 gas outlets in Missouri.
This compares with the national average that has fallen 5.5 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.55 per gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com. Including the change in gas prices in Missouri during the past week, prices yesterday were 26.6 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and 17 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.
Senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy Patrick DeHaan says for the second straight week almost every state saw average gas prices fall notably as refineries continue to heal after hurricane Harvey and work on restoring production of motor fuels.
