Bluegrass Battles Hunger holds 8th annual concert weekend in St. Joseph

Bluegrass Battles Hunger is presenting its 8th annual concert weekend to support Second Harvest Community Food Bank in St. Joseph, Mo.

Concerts will be held this Friday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m. and again on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 3 p.m. Both performances will be held at Coleman Hawkins Park, located at 7th and Felix Streets in St. Joseph.

Patrons are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items or cash donations. Spokesman for Bluegrass Battles Hunger Brandon Tritten says the goal of the Bluegrass Battles Hunger concert is to bring people downtown to enjoy bluegrass music and to help fight food instability locally.

Tritten says every year the event continues to grow and to attract local and regional acts. For more information, visit
