Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nodaway County seeks volunteers

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nodaway County is making efforts to recruit more "big brothers" to match with "little brothers" in their program. Thirty-three kids are on the waiting list, eighteen of whom are boys who have been waiting for two years or more to get matched.

Program Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nodaway County Lynette Harbin says to help spur recruitment efforts a social event is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 25, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Carson's Sports Grille. Food and beverages will be available and visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about Big Brothers Big Sisters. Harbin says if someone can't commit to being a big brother or sister there are other ways to volunteer to help, which they can learn about at the event.
