Union Star teen dead in 2-vehicle collision

A 16-year-old Union Star resident is dead after colliding with a tractor trailer yesterday evening 6 miles northwest of Union Star on Route M in Andrew County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 16-year-old Zachary Richey was westbound on County Road 229 at 5:36 p.m. and failed to stop at a stop sign. That's when his Ford hit the towed unit of a Peterbilt Tractor Trailer driven by 31-year-old Robert Hill of Platte City.
