Grundy County votes on nursing home levy Aug. 9

On Tuesday, August 9, Grundy County voters will decide the fate of a levy increase.

The only item on the ballot is a 15 cent increase in the levy for the Grundy County Nursing Home District. Administrator of the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, Donita Youtsey, says the levy increase is important for the district to continue offering the level of care it does for so many people.

According to Youtsey the levy could generate $150,000 a year that can be used to maintain nursing homes. A simple majority vote is needed for the levy to pass.

Polls will open Tuesday at 6 a.m.
