The Federal Emergency Management Agency is offering federal assistance and grant opportunities for eligible applicants. Assistance will be available to help cover costs to repair or replace facilities damaged by the severe storms and flooding in Missouri between April 28 and May 11 this year.
Funds will primarily be for historic properties and activities that are located on, or might affect, wetland areas. FEMA spokesman John Mills says the majority of the damage from these storms and flooding didn't affect northwest Missouri. Mills adds that flood damage which occurred during this period also opens up hazard mitigation grants state-wide.
