Former site vice president at Pilgrim Nuclear Station near Plymouth, Massachusets, John Dent, has been named site vice president and chief nuclear officer for the Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska. Cooper Nuclear Station is owned and operated by the Nebraska Public Power District.

Dent's qualifications include his role as general manager of plant operations at Pilgrim Nuclear Station and fleet operations support general manager at Entergy Nuclear headquarters in Jackson, Mississippi. In total, he has more than 30 years of commercial nuclear power experience; a bachelor's degree in engineering; a senior operator's license from Seabrook Station; and he has completed the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations' senior nuclear management course.

Dent assumes the chief nuclear officer position from Ken Higginbotham, who announced he will retire at the end of the month.
