Missouri Department of Conservation to offer managed deer hunts

The Missouri Department of Conservation is opening applications for a chance at more than 100 managed deer hunts in Missouri, beginning July 1. MDC's Joe Jerek says applicants will be selected by a weighted random drawing and will receive information in the mail if selected.

The managed deer hunts allow for archery, muzzleloading, and modern firearms from mid-September through mid-January at various conservation areas, national wildlife refuges, and other public areas. Some of the managed hunts are held specifically for youth or for people with disabilities.

The application period is July 1-30. Get more information, preview hunt details, and apply beginning July 1, at: http://www.mdc.mo.gov/managedhunt
