McCaskill and Graves offer well wishes to injured in Alexandria, Virginia

Area lawmakers are reacting to yesterday's shooting in Alexandria, Virginia that injured a top House Republican leader. Missouri Democratic U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill says Americans shouldn't let what happened change their beliefs in what the United States stands for.

In a prepared statement, Republican 6th District Congressman Sam Graves of Tarkio said his prayers are with everyone affected by this, including majority whip Steve Scalise and all of the brave members of the U.S. Capitol Police.

Republican lawmakers were practicing for their annual charity baseball game against the Democrats when shots were fired yesterday morning.
