Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft announced the Gentry County Library will receive a Digital Imaging Grant of $16,804 to develop the library's digital collection.
The library will use the grant to digitize newspapers published in Gentry County from 1903 through 1975. The grant and others like it are funded by the Library Services and Technology Act through the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. Digital Imaging Grants provide funds to supply the community with collections of hisorically and culturally significant documents.
The Missouri State Library has approved 155 grant applications in 2017 totaling to almost half a million dollars in federal awards that the secretary's office has distributed to Missouri Libraries.
