The storm system that moved through the region Wednesday evening through Thursday morning caught a number people by surprise.
One Gentry County resident was stranded and had to be rescued by emergency management personnel. Missouri Department of Conservation officers, Gentry County Sheriff's Department deputies, and area first responders successfully executed a swift water rescue of a male subject swept away in flood waters in northwest Gentry County near Route B.
Missouri Highway Patrol Sergeant Jake Angle says they were able to make the swift water rescue safely. Angle says it's important to exercise caution when coming in contact with flood waters.
