Fireworks usage in Maryville

The 4th of July is coming up with many people celebrating this weekend through the 4th on Tuesday.

Maryville Public Safety Director Keith Wood says it's important for everyone to keep safety in mind when handling fireworks and to be prepared for potential dangers that fireworks can produce. He recommended that children not use fireworks without supervision and that a source of water, like a bucket or a hose, be kept nearby just in case.

Wood also says fireworks are restricted regarding the times and places where they can be used in Maryville and that regulations on fireworks will be strictly enforced by Maryville Public Safety.
