Construction of Hughes Family Center to be complete by August 2018

Construction of the Hughes Family Center Indoor Facility on the Northwest Missouri State University campus is slated to be complete by August of 2018.

Groundbreaking ceremonies were held last week on the Northwest campus commemorating the start of the project. A portion of the cost of the building is being funded through a transient guest tax in the city of Maryville. City Manager Greg McDanel says the city will be able to utilize the 137,250 square foot facility as well as the University.

The $20 million Hughes Family Center is the largest public-private partnership in Northwest's 112-year history.
