Missouri Department of Conservation seeks public input

The Missouri Department of Conservation is interested in what area residents think of nine draft management plans for areas near the Missouri River in northwest Missouri, as well as plans for Lott's Creek in Holt County, during the month of May.

The process of updating management plans may take several years, but the MDC encourages the public to comment on draft plans during this month's process. MDC Media Specialist Bill Graham says public input is important for the managed areas. Graham also says Lott's Creek draft plans are due for review. The nine areas near the Missouri River in northwest Missouri are located in Atchison, Holt and Andrew Counties.
The MDC provides nearly 1,000 conservation areas around the state, covering almost one million public acres.
