The environmental and economic benefits of cover cropping will be featured during a Spring Field Day series in Iowa. Practical Farmers of Iowa is hosting several events that run through May, including many that highlight the value and benefits of integrating livestock into cover cropping.
The series is called "Cover Crop Caravan," as guests will have a chance to make stops at several farms and locations. Bruce Carney of Maxwell, Iowa is one of the hosts for the series. He says cover cropping is an important strategy as growers work to reduce the runoff of nitrogen and phosphorus.
