The Missouri House of Representatives this week approved a $27.8 billion operating budget for next year. First District State Representative Allen Andrews of Grant City says the budget includes nearly $3.4 billion in basic state aid for K-12 school districts.
Andrews says, while the budget still cuts funding to public colleges and universities, the cuts are not quite as deep as originally recommended by Governor Greitens. The House budget proposal now goes to the State Senate for consideration.
