The Maryville City Council approved a contractor for this summer's Asphalt Mill and Overlay Project at Monday night's council meeting.
The council executed a contract with Keller Construction Company, Inc. for about $290,000 to renovate more than two miles of city roadway. Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel says staff altered the bid process because of an incident last year.
Nine roads were on the original 2017 proposal but, because Keller's bid went over the budget, South Grand was moved to next year's list. Roadwork is anticipated to begin June 1 and to finish by late July.
According to McDanel, the city has poured around $3M dollars into road improvements in the last 5 years.
