Traffic stop results in drug seizure

A routine traffic stop by the Missouri Highway Patrol in Andrew County yesterday morning led to a seizure of drugs.

The state trooper stopped a car on I-29 at the 63-mile-marker and, during the stop, a probable cause search of the vehicle revealed eight pounds of marijuana, ecstasy pills and $5,000 in cash. 22-year-old Michael Nelson of Nebraska and 20-year-old Miya Jackson of California were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and second degree drug trafficking.

Both suspects were transported to the Andrew County Sheriff's Department in Savannah, Missouri.
