Polar Plunge raises funds for Missouri Special Olympics

The 10th Annual Polar Plunge, held Feb. 25 at Viking Lake, raised $30,000 for Special Olympics Missouri. Special Olympics Missouri Development Director Melody Prawitz says the funds benefit local Special Olympics athletes in a number of different ways.

Top fundraisers from the event were: 1st place individual fundraiser, James Rash; 1st place group fundraiser, Fiesta DAWGS; 1st place law enforcement fundraiser, Platte County Sheriff; and 1st place school fundraiser, Trenton High School.

Upcoming events sponsored by Special Olympics Missouri include the Shamrock Run on March 11 and Ladies Night Out on April 20.
