Missouri State Highway Patrol conducts sobriety checkpoint and DWI saturation

The Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted a sobriety checkpoint and a DWI saturation in two separate Northwest Missouri counties.

The sobriety checkpoint was held in Nodaway County from 10 p.m., March 18 to 2 a.m., March 19. A total of 215 vehicles went through the checkpoint and 34 warnings were issued but no arrests were made. The DWI Saturation was completed in Buchanan County. Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Jake Angle says when big travel holidays come around more of the saturations and checkpoints will occur.

As a result of the saturation three people were arrested for driving while intoxicated. One felony warrant arrest, one minor in possession, two misdemeanor drug arrests, 20 traffic citations and 64 warnings were also given out.
