Fifth and sixth grade students from Northwest Missouri State University's Horace Mann Laboratory School recently visited the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City where they participated in S.T.E.M. Day at the Capitol.
S.T.E.M. Day is sponsored annually by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Mathematics and Science Coalition to highlight the importance of science, technology, engineering and math in education.
Horace Mann students visited State Representative Allen Andrews, who answered questions, recognized the students during a House of Representatives session, and invited the students to observe a Small Business Committee meeting. The students also met with representatives from Boeing, Pfizer, Brewer Science and PLTW, who shared information about new technologies and ideas with them.
