Candidates' Forum set for March 28

The Maryville Citizens for Community Action and the Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce have announced a Candidates' Forum and Town Hall Meeting for the April 4 election. The forum will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 28 in the Nodaway County Courthouse court room.

Candidates running for two seats on the Maryville City Council are Michael Baumli, Kevin Hawkins Jr., Ben Lipiec and incumbent Rachael Martin. Three initiatives on the April ballot will also be presented: the Polk township bond renewal for maintenance rock, the Maryville Public Library 12 cent levy increase and the City of Maryville renewal of the half cent sales tax for capital improvements.

The public will have the opportunity to ask questions after the Forum and the three initiatives have been presented.
